an epilogue of sorts, Iulus reflects back on the war his father Aeneas fought against Turnus and the Latins. He also looks forward into the future of the city (Rome) and dynasty(Julia) he has founded. The Aeneid was Roman propaganda that helped link the gods to the Julian line (Julius Caesar). Aeneas of course is the son of Aphrodite and Anchises, so by making Iulus the progenitor of the Julian line, Virgil linked Julius Caesar to the gods.
lyrics
The peace has held across this land yet we must not stumble as we stand on the cusp of something great
Oh it's a legacy of a thousand years, enter conquered cities to praise and cheers
that’s the merit of our claim.
A new world order that’s the game we play.
It wasnt Turnus nor his men that could stop the swift Dardanian but complacence at it’s worst.
It will rear its head and then purr then hiss while your back is turned in ambivalence
That’s the beauty of its strike, unsuspecting legacies beware.
If time can take its toll, our memories will wash away, fade away.
If it’s not set in stone, placed up so high, our memories will wash away.
I see cities so full, with fresh water brought from afar.
From the mountains so crisp and so cool, I see leisure and luxury.
Patrons of art so magnificent, elegant,
Armies so strong they’ll stand up against elephants, nothing can get in our way.
Oh it's the culture of cultures, the finest of wines
The spreading of great architectural minds to the
North, South, East, and West our destiny will manifest
If time can take its toll, our memories will wash away, fade away.
If it’s not set in stone, placed up so high, our memories will wash away.
So if you’ve stayed with my story thus far our trials were great, certainly not sparse
We fled from our homes, from Odysseus’s torch, we took to the waves we took to the waves
