about

Aeneas and his band of Trojans reach the shores of Italy and are so hungry that they have even eaten the stale bread trenchers they had used as tables. This fulfills an earlier prophecy and thus marks these lands as their destined home. Aeneas sends a few men to go treat with the local king, urging them to choose their words carefully and not to reveal the weary, weakened state the Trojans are in.

lyrics

I’ve drifted, aimlessly, I’ve drifted in hope I’ve drifted, aimlessly, I’ve drifted in hope
I’ve drifted, aimlessly, I’ve drifted in hope
I’ve drifted, aimlessly, I’ve drifted in hope

I’ve drifted, aimlessly, I’ve drifted in hope (But does it ever really change, all of these places stay the same, and will it ever really change for our wives, or our sons, or our daughters?)
I’ve drifted, aimlessly, I’ve drifted in hope
(But does it ever really change, all of these places stay the same, and will it ever really change for our wives, or our sons, or our daughters?)

In waiting on the shore, no time for strife our bellies aching, asking for more.
Our trenchers eaten prophecies fulfilled on this coast .
Our minds enlightened, minds enlightened much more than most.
To take you out, to take you in, to take you away

And only mention peace, and keep your wits about you should some trouble arise
We’ll need a painting with words, cover up scars that we hide behind
And only mention peace, and never settle never settle exemplify!
